Research

As part of Wellness Wheel's mission to provide equitable access to high-level clinical and holistic care for Indigenous and vulnerable populations, Wellness Wheel has partnered with individual researchers and communities on several research projects.

Many of the research projects are sponsored through grants from our public and private partners, while some remain unfunded. In general, all research projects are largely geared toward improving chronic disease health outcomes and are community-led and developed.

These research projects, completed in collaboration with our community partners and target populations, take an iterative approach that entails working with communities to gather data to generate a better understanding of the needs of the communities, families, and individuals. The research projects also work to quantify the effectiveness of treatments and strategies, extrapolate shortcomings and strengths, and apply those learnings to develop new treatments and strategies to improve health care results.
